The Central Area Documentary Project Association’s mission is to uncover the past and present living history of the residents of Seattle’s Central District.
The Central Area Documentary Project Association implements our mission by producing a series of video interviews entitled the The CD Uncovered. This continuing series of video interviews by former residents of the Central Area documents their stories about growing up and living in Seattle’s Central District.
The CD Uncovered features interviews by various Central Area residents such as Rev. Dr, Samuel McKinney, Larry Gossett, Carl Smith, Dr. Norwood Brooks. Eddie Rye Jr. Dr. Maxine Mimms and various other residents and past residents of the Central Area.
Gentrification has divided the once vibrant Black community of Seattle’s Central Area into satellite communities throughout King County. The CD Uncovered documents the history of Seattle’s Central Area through first-hand interviews from the people who made up the fabric of this diverse community.
